Dear Friends,
It’s an honor to write to you again – on behalf of the Board, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who reads the AMIB newsletter and to all who support and encourage our mission of providing life care to our individuals. It has been a joy to witness the activities of our various homes this summer, as residents have enjoyed outings, petting zoos, picnics, parks, concerts, and pool time, sharing their adventures on social media. We hope you follow AMIB on one or more of our platforms to stay connected with these wonderful moments.
AMIB continues to make significant strides towards our goal of establishing homes in Monmouth and Ocean County opening the two most recent homes. This progress is a testament to the collective effort and support of our community. We are also excited to welcome Rita, a new member of the AMIB Board, who brings a personal connection to our mission as the cousin of one of our residents. Rita has been aware of AMIB’s journey since its early days at Elberon, and like many of you, she has followed our progress with pride. We are also grieving the loss of one of our longtime Board members Ken Carson, Jr.
For years he served as President of the Board and was a wonderful example of mentioning AMIB to people he met in the course of his day. He will be greatly missed as he always was looking forward to the next home, the next project.
We are grateful for the support, interest, and leadership that helps AMIB thrive. A special thanks to our office staff, home managers, and dedicated direct support professionals, whose hard work and commitment ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our community.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Lillian H. Johnsen
