AMIB has a Grand Slam Day at the Ballpark

Gail, Tommy, and Abby outside the ballpark; Brick Home residents Catherine, Lisa and Suzanne enjoying the gameOn a beautiful mid-May spring afternoon, AMIB residents and staff enjoyed an unforgettable day at the ballpark as the Jersey Shore BlueClaws took on the Greensboro Grasshoppers. From the moment everyone arrived, there was excitement in the air as residents found their seats, enjoyed classic ballpark food, and cheered on the home team.

The outing provided much more than a baseball game. It was an opportunity for residents to spend quality time with friends, staff, and one another while experiencing the excitement of a live sporting event. Throughout the afternoon, smiles, laughter, and team spirit filled the stadium as everyone enjoyed the sunshine and entertainment.

Community outings like this play an important role in AMIB's mission by promoting inclusion, independence, and meaningful social experiences for adults who are blind or visually impaired and have additional disabilities. These shared experiences help build friendships, boost confidence, and create lasting memories that extend far beyond the final inning.

A special thank you to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws for their hospitality and to the many AMIB staff members who helped make the day such a success. We are grateful to everyone who made this memorable outing possible and look forward to creating many more special moments for our residents in the future.
