HONORING KENNETH J. CARSON, JR. From the CARSON FAMILY

The love and support our family has received since Ken’s passing have been overwhelming and deeply comforting. Words cannot fully express our gratitude, but please know how much we appreciate each and every one of you. On behalf of the Carson family, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and unwavering support.

Ken was not only a past President and Board Member of AMIB but also a proud Vietnam veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a man of deep convictions—his love for God, family, and country was unwavering. Hard work and perseverance defined his character, and he had a remarkable ability to step in, take charge, and bring help to those in need. He embraced each day with gratitude and a determination to live life to the fullest.

Ken’s passion for helping others was deeply personal. His sister, Mary Carol, was blind, and rather than allowing her to be institutionalized, Ken and his family built a vision of care and support. This vision became the Association for the Multiple Impaired Blind, which has provided homes and hope for individuals with disabilities for over 60 years. Ken dedicated much of his time and energy to ensuring that those in need were treated with dignity and respect. He served on the board for many years, helping to guide the organization’s growth and mission.

Ken’s dream was to establish 20 homes for individuals with disabilities. Today, 18 homes stand, the 19th has been purchased, and the 20th will be built in honor of his son, Kenny. Though both Ken and Kenny have passed, their impact continues, and their legacies will live on in the lives they touched.

Ken’s passion for AMIB’s mission did not end with him—it lives on through his children and grandchildren, who have embraced his dedication to ensuring that adults with disabilities receive the care, dignity, and family-like support they deserve. Just as Ken worked tirelessly to expand AMIB’s reach, his family remains committed to continuing his legacy, ensuring that each resident is treated with love and respect.
Ken’s kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Whether through a thoughtful word, a helping hand, or financial support, he always found ways to lift others up. He believed in the power of small gestures—he was known for sending flowers, convinced they could brighten anyone’s day.

Ken is missed every day. He was an integral part of the AMIB family. His absence is deeply felt, but his spirit lives on in the work he championed and the lives he changed.
We remember and honor Ken Carson Jr.—a man of faith, family, and service. His generosity and spirit will never be forgotten, and his impact will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
